    Our Chinese New Year dim sum event was so popular that we're doing it again! This time, Cornell NorCal and the Princeton Club of Northern California are bringing together alumni in the Bay Area for a fun dining experience. Join us to meet new friends and expand your network over a delicious Dim Sum meal with a wide variety of traditional dishes.

    Standard dim sum items will be ordered, and you will have an opportunity to add additional dishes. Payment for the food will be split evenly among the diners, plus drinks on an individual basisWe will be sitting in the restaurant's private lounge.

    Because registration is limited, please let us know if you have to cancel or might not be able to make it so someone on the waitlist can take your spot.

    COST:

    Registration is free for Cornell NorCal dues-paying members and non-members. Payment for the food will be split evenly among the diners, plus drinks on an individual basis.       Come one, come all to Cornell NorCal’s Annual Social Meeting!

      This event is open to all Cornell NorCal members and newsletter subscribers. Join us in appreciation of Cornell NorCal’s service and impact, to celebrate the Bay Area Cornell alumni community, and to reflect on the 2023-24 Board year. As the Board prepares for a new year of engaging local alumni, this is your opportunity to connect with your fellow alumni and to contribute ideas about how we can continue to build the community through our events.

      Light refreshments will be provided.

      Free for Cornell NorCal dues-paying members

      $10 for non-dues-paying members and all guests

      Due to venue requirements, no refunds on ticket purchases will be allowed. However, tickets are transferable for the same event. 

      TRANSPORTATION:

      Street parking is available. The building is a 5-minute walk from the Mission Rock stop on the T Muni line or a 3-minute walk from the Mission Bay Blvd. North & 3rd St. stop on the 22 Muni bus line.

      Get ready to strike up some fun and connect with your fellow Cornell alumni on the lanes! Join us for a fun afternoon of bowling at Yerba Buena Bowling Center followed by drinks at Black Hammer Brewing Company, both centrally located in San Francisco's vibrant South of Market district.

      This event is for young alumni and for those young at heart!

      Don't miss this opportunity to connect with the Cornell community while cheering each other on and enjoying friendly competition. All skill levels are welcome.

      The ticket price covers rental of four bowling lanes and bowling shoes for all registrants. Please note that drinks and food are not included in the ticket price. Attendees can order drinks and food at the bowling center or at the brewery at their own expense.

      This event is limited to 20 participants, so register early to secure your spot!

      On Folsom Street, there is a mid-block traffic light signal and crosswalk, where you will find stairs and an elevator up to the second floor. On the second floor, the Bowling Center will be on your left.

      $18 for Cornell NorCal dues-paying members

      $25 for non-members

      Yerba Buena Bowling Center is 4 blocks from the Powell Street BART station and is across the street from the Yerba Buena/Moscone Center Muni T line stop. Street parking and the Fifth & Mission garage are available nearby.

      Join an all-Ivy alumni curated night at the San Francisco Opera! Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with fellow alumni and friends at the pre-performance social in the North Dress Circle.

      Come to socialize and to learn more during the pre-opera talk about the American premiere of "Innocence," acclaimed by the New York Times as a "masterpiece." Innocence takes us into the complex emotional journey of a group of people recovering from inconceivable trauma. In a gripping drama, the work of Kaija Saariaho, Sofi Oksanen and Aleksi Barrière unfolds a harrowing story of emotional shock and surprise in which our understanding of innocence and guilt is continually upended.

      **PLEASE NOTE: In order to attend the pre-performance social, attendees must purchase a ticket to the evening's performanceA special discount code is available for Ivy alumni.

      Go to Joint Ivy Alumni Night at the SF Opera to register via Eventbrite and to purchase discounted tickets!

      SCHEDULE

      Doors open at 6:30 pm. Anyone arriving for the Pre-Performance Reception need to enter through the North Carriage Doors, which are on the courtyard side of the Opera House.

      • 6:30-7:15 pm: Pre-performance reception (located in the North Dress Circle).
      • 7:05-7:15 pm: Featured speaker discusses featured opera performance.
      • 7:15-7:30 pm: Attendees are seated before performance begins.
      • 7:30 pm: Performance begins (there is no late seating).

      TRANSPORTATION

      The War Memorial Opera House is a short walk from the Civic Center BART and MUNI stations as well as the Van Ness MUNI station. Multiple parking options are available within walking distance to the War Memorial Opera House.

      • Performing Arts Garage: Enter at 360 Grove, between Franklin and Gough. 
      • Civic Center Plaza Garage: Entrance on McAllister between Polk and Larkin.
      • Opera Plaza Garage: Entrance on Golden Gate between Van Ness and Franklin.
      • UC Law SF Garage: Enter on Larkin, between McAllister and Golden Gate.
